MANUFACTURING PROCESS

We follow a meticulous manufacturing process that combines traditional craftsmanship with modern metallurgical excellence to deliver high-performance components.

Raw Material

Raw materials are classified based on chemical composition and stored in individual bins. They are transferred manually to induction furnaces where they are melted. A chill sample is prepared, and chemical analysis is verified using a spectrometer.

Melting

Involves charge preparation as per customer specifications. Cast iron scrap, Pig Iron, and alloys are melted at temperatures between 1200°C and 1400°C. Cooling rates are strictly controlled to adjust the microstructure for strength and wear resistance.

Pouring & Centrifugal Casting

Molten metal is poured while the mold rotates at 900–1500 rpm. Centrifugal force ensures uniform thickness and reduced porosity. Molds are preheated to 200°C–300°C to ensure optimal flow and solidification.

Proof Machining

The liner is cleaned using shot blasting and then rough-machined (0.5mm to 1.0mm removal) using VTL (Vertical Turret Lathe) or SPM machines to ensure symmetry and dimensional stability.

Fine Boring

A finishing operation to achieve precise bore dimensions and a smooth surface. It involves setting up boring machines with specific cutting parameters and measuring the result with precision testers.

CNC Machining

The final step for the outer diameter. CNC machines are used for turning to achieve exact dimensions and surface finish, followed by rigorous quality inspection of every unit.

Grinding

For dry cylinder liners, final grinding of the outer diameter is performed using centerless grinding machines. This includes both rough and finishing passes to ensure dimensional accuracy.

Plateau Honing

Uses Diamond honing stones to create a specific cross-hatch pattern on the liner's bore. This pattern is crucial for oil retention and optimal engine performance.

Quality Control

A comprehensive inspection stage where all parameters are checked against standard drawings using digital micrometers, verniers, bore gauges, roundness testers, and pneumatic gauges.

Branding & Packaging

Liners are treated for rust prevention and packed in a dust-preventive room using automatic lamination, strapping machines, and export-quality wooden boxes.
